About the author

I am a wife of almost 5 years and an indie singer-songwriter living in rural Pennsylvania, after moving back after spending 8 years in NYC. Instead of sharing stories in person and eventually fading off because no one is paying attention, I will write it here.

'This Indie Life' is about my adventures and findings of trying to live a conscious lifestyle in a not-so-conscious world, while remaining as independent from big business as much as possible. That means my blog posts will revolve around my life as an 'indie musician', as well as an 'indie human'. Sometimes DIY projects, homemade recipes, quotes, photos, videos, links, or other inspiring information will be featured for those who also enjoy their freedom. I believe that power is knowledge, so if I do or hear of something interesting, I'll gladly share it with you!

I admit to being obsessed with Kona, my 3-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, being addicted to living as eco-friendly as possible, having a passion for interior decorating, and believing that one person really can make a difference.

Wooo! I just finished the “Fifty Shades of Grey” trilogy! Finally. In 9 days. I’m such a sucker for a good love story! This is why I have to space these kinds of books out, because THEY CONSUME MY LIFE. I started it on vacation, and literally, every spare moment I had following, was spent reading the book. It reminded me a lot of the Twilight series, except more realistic (though not really), and raunchy, of course.

Came across these funny photos (that last one is my casting choice for the movie haha), so I thought I’d share with my fellow “Fifty” friends. Now time to get on with my life and uncross my eyes from reading so much… And anxiously await the movie release, of course.

Ahhh… the Metro System is one of the many things I do NOT miss about living in NYC!

I’d like to launch an awareness campaign aimed at rude New Yorkers, written in a style they’ll understand, so that one day, maybe, they won’t be quite so shitty.

I should note that most New Yorkers are completely wonderful, caring people. It’s just that some of us seem to enjoy the “New Yorkers are assholes” thing a bit too much.

Creative Dad Takes Crazy Photos of Daughters

Oh my gosh. I love everything about these photos I almost cried. I love how the dad is so creative, and I’m going to assume, patient. I love how the dad spent so much time and energy on something just to share his daughter’s personalities and faces with his sick mom. I love how the dad respects his daughters’ creativity by letting them come up with most of the ideas. I love how ridiculously cute these girls are and what they must think of their awesomely cool dad. And if you didn’t know already, I have always dreamed of adopting an Asian baby, so I clearly LOVE these photos. ;)
