It’s hard to find someone who wasn’t bullied growing up. I myself am a stronger person emotionally and spiritually because of it, but it still doesn’t mean bullying is acceptable. I don’t blame the bullies though. I think parents just need to teach their kids to be nice. Bullies have to learn the behavior from somewhere, and it’s usually from their own parents bullying them in various ways.
I’m thankful for parents who knew enough to raise me spiritually strong. When I was 12, I had a long talk with God and we made a deal. He was going to give me strength to live through the bullying, and I promised to pursue my passion, so one day I could help others to also follow good. Each day I strive to follow good.
Ever notice how good is similar to God and evil is similar to devil? As Oprah says, “I don’t believe in coincidences”.
Two Wolves
One evening an old Choctaw told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, “My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all.”
“One is Evil - It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is Good - It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: “Which wolf wins?“
The old Choctaw simply replied, “The one you feed.”
